Cycle Ride to Harwich Beer Festival
Annual cycle ride to Harwich Beer Festival. Weather permitting! In 2010 it turned into a ramble because of the snow.

CycAle Ride to Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival
Ride to Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival.
We'll leave at 9:30am and roughly follow Route 1 from Colchester to Chelmsford with a small detour via Maldon for a pint in the Blue Boar. There's a short section of off-road right at the start of the ride which can be avoided for those who are only tarmac compatible. Slow-Medium 12-14mph pace but no-one gets left behind.
Arrive at the beer festival after midday.
Return by train.
CycAle Planning Meeting 2012
The annual CycAle planning meeting were we arrange the rides for the forthcoming year. Come along armed with ideas for destinations for the monthly rides. Volunteers to plan and lead rides very welcome and very much required! Do come along even if you've not been on a ride before.
The meeting will be held at the Fat Cat, Colchester.

CycAle: 25th March 2012, Suffolk Borders
The Sunday March 25th cycale ride will be to the White Horse at Edwardstone for lunch, with possible pub stops at Boxford, Sudbury, Henny Street, Lamarsh and Mount Bures. Total distance back to Colchester will be approx 45 miles, with optional returns by train from Sudbury (26 miles) or Bures (34 miles) for those who are knackered or prefer a shorter ride. This will be quite a hilly route and will be 100% tarmac.
UPDATED: CycAle April 2012: Essex and Suffolk
Join us for a ride from Colchester into Suffolk - We will be visiting Hadleigh,Bildeston,Chelsworth,Groton,Boxford,Stoke-by-Nayland and maybe a couple of other places,weather and beer dependent as some of these places are not known to me!!Total mileage 40-50 miles at a guess
Meet at The Bricklayer's car park at 10am.

CycAle May 2012: South Essex
Itinerary
This tour breaks new ground for Cycale but involves quite lengthy train travel. However, the pubs are varied with a few absolute gems! I am keeping my fingers crossed that we will be accepted on all the trains with our bikes! It is about 45 miles in total.

Join us for a ride around the Ipswich area - details TBC. All our rides are typically 40-50 miles at a gentle pace and involve a few pub stops with a good pub lunch somewhere along the way.

Our annual weekend ride to....the Isle of Wight.
Unfortunately the accomodation has all been booked so it's too late to join this ride but we'd welcome any new riders on our day rides.

CycAle August 2012: Ipswich Beer Festival Circular Ride
A repeat of last year's very successful ride to Ipswich Beer Festival and then onwards to Felixstowe before getting the ferry across to Harwich. Followed either by a train home or, for those so inclined, a ride back to Colchester.
There's options for a:
22 mile ride - return by train from Ipswich.
38 mile ride - to Felixstowe, ferry, then return by train from Harwich
61 mile ride - the full circular route back to Colchester.
CycAle September 2012: Chappel and the Colne Valley
Join us for a ride around the West of Colchester including a stop at Chappel Beer Festival.
The Cycale trip on Sat 8th Sept to Chappel beer festival will start from the Maypole P.H. Berechurch Hall Rd at 10.15am. The route will be via Feering and Great Tey. We will be at the festival for approx. 2hrs. Return via Fordham and Copford.

CycAle October 2012: Keith's Mystery Tour with Bells On
The Cycale on 13th is now a southerly route taking in The Swan at Little Totham, Chequers at Goldhanger and The Blue Boar in Maldon (lunch stop).
We will start with a cup of tea at the jam factory! Scones optional. Departure will be 10-15 approx from the ex-Maypole Green.

CycAle November 2012: Norwich Beer Festival
The annual two-day extravaganza to Norwich Beer Festival. Day one is Colchester to Beccles for an overnight stay with lunch enroute in Framlingham. Day two is from Beccles to Norwich to arrive at the Beer Festival for opening.

CycAle March 2013 Chappel Winter Beer Festival
For those that are cycling to the Chappel Winter Beer festival on Saturday 2nd March, we will be meeting at the Bricklayers Arms car park at 10.15.
It will be a modest ride of about 15 miles to the festival, via Nayland and Bures, and about 15 miles back via Fordham, Copford Green and Layer. Shorter return options will be available, as well as returning by train. I’ve haven’t arranged lunch anywhere, on the assumption that food will be available at the festival, but bring spare bananas (in suitable holders) just in case.
