Join Jules for a gentle short evening ride taking advantage of the long Summer nights - beginners very much welcome! Thinking of joining a CycAle day ride but don't know what to expect - come along for an evening to find out.
The route is:
1. Depart from the Hospital Arms at 7pm (those thirsty enough no doubt will arrive earlier to take advantage of the HA, rude not to)
2. The Live and Let Live
3. The Alma, Copford
4. The Crown at Messing
5. The Sun at Feering, ready for the return on the train.
About 12 miles in total.

A long weekend staying in Norwich.
Friday 31st - evening train to Norwich and a night out in the city's pubs.
Saturday 1st - a circular ride around the outskirts and outlying villages of Norwich.
Sunday 2nd - a short ride followed by a train home.

4th October will be a ride to Sudbury and back. Tea stop along the way in Assington before lunch in Sudbury, back via the normal route with as many pub stops as required and catching the beer festival at the Three Horseshoes in Fordham.

Friday - ride from Colchester to Beccles with lunch in Framlingham. Evening in Beccles.
Saturday - short ride from Beccles to Norwich to arrive at the Festival for opening. Return by train to Colchester.

An overseas CycAle adventure - sleeper ferry to Holland on Friday 10th June, followed by a day of cycling and return by sleeper ferry on Saturday night - with return from Harwich by bike on Sunday 12th.

This year's CycALE ride for Newbies will start from the Hospital Arms at 7pm, Thursday 23rd June (or 6.30 if you're thirsty before the ride!)
We will then be stopping at the Donkey & Buskins, Layer-de-la-Haye, then the Whalebone, Fingringhoe, and finally Rowhedge, where both the Albion and the Anchor can be visited manlig-halsa.se.

Promising a different route - but with the same excellent lunch venue - it's Tim and Paul and thier annual luncheon ride.
We will be departing from the Bungalow Cafe, Marks Tey at 10.30 am, please arrive early should you require breakfast/coffee etc.
The ride will finish in Braintree with the option to cycle back or catch a train.
Riding along the A120 will be kept to a minimum.

A ride to Maldon to meet up with the bus-bound Second Sunday pub crawlers.
Leaders: Nigel (cycling contingent) and Ted Ted (bus rabble).
From a cycaleists point of view we will meet 10.00am at the old Maypole Pub (now a shooting and fishing outlet I believe) at the junction of Berechurch Road/Berechurch Hall Road/Bounstead Road.
We will then head to Maldon via Tiptree Tea rooms to meet with the Staggerers at 12 noon.

We have a Cycale ride on Saturday 25th June (originally to be done by Robin, but he couldn’t make it, so it’s not on the website list) - the plan is to meet at the former Maypole pub on the junction of Berechuch Hall Road and Berechurch Road at 10.30, then an early tea stop at Abberton Nature Reserve, Little Totham, lunch at the Chequers at Goldhanger, Heybridge, Great Totham, Wickham Bishops, then the option of the train back from Witham or cycle back via Layer Breton.

Next Saturday’s ride (25th March) will be out to Tattingstone and back via (probably) Stutton, Bentley, East Bergholt and Dedham. The distance will be about 35-40 miles. I won’t pre-book lunch anywhere, I’m sure we can find food somewhere on the way.
We’ll meet at the start of the Wivenhoe trail by the pedestrian crossing, (opposite the lightship), and leave at 10.30. If anyone wants to shorten the route slightly, you can get the train to Manningtree as our first stop will be Manningtree station buffet – we’ll be leaving Manningtree at around 11.30 or just after.
